Athletics
National City Middle School offers a variety of sports through our after school program which include cheerleading, flag football, girls and boys soccer, girls’ and boys’ basketball, girls’ volleyball, and girls’ softball. Our athletic teams are tryout-based and teams compete against other middle schools in the Sweetwater Union High School District on designated Saturdays. We pride ourselves in actively preparing our athletes for successful season and building skills in preparation for high school sports. Students interested in participating should stop by the after school program or ASB office for more information.

Tryouts will begin in August for our 2026 Fall sports league. Our sports season will begin with the teams listed below. Their tryout dates and times are as follows:
Cheer (all year)- Aug. 3-5, 3:30-6:00pm
Boys' Basketball- Aug. 10 and 11, 3:30-5:30pm
Girls' Basketball- Aug. 10 and 11, 3:30-5:30pm
Baseball-Aug. 12 and 13, 3:30-5:30pm
Softball- Aug. 12 and 13, 3:30-5:30pm
Dance (all year), Aug. 12-14, 3:30-6:00pm
Cross Country- Aug. 17 and 19, 3:30-5:30pm
If your student is selected for a team, they will be required to enroll in our afterschool program for the duration of the season (6 weeks). Practices are a minimum of three times per week along with games played on Saturdays. Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from games. Games are played at local high schools within our district. No physical is needed to tryout or play a sport. However, students must be registered through https://www.homecampus.com . Please refer to the instructions attached. Once students registration is complete, parents must sign the confirmation page and students must turn it in to the ASB.

Las pruebas comenzarán en agosto para nuestra liga deportiva de otoño y poristas/baile. Tendremos pruebas para los siguientes equipos:

Si su estudiante es seleccionado para un equipo, deberá estar inscrito en nuestro programa extraescolar durante toda la temporada (6 semanas). Los entrenamientos se realizan al menos tres veces por semana, además de los partidos los sábados. Los estudiantes son responsables de su propio transporte para ir y volver de los partidos. Los partidos se juegan en las escuelas preparatorias locales de nuestro distrito. No se requiere un examen físico para probar o practicar un deporte. Sin embargo, los estudiantes deben registrarse a través de https://www.homecampus.com. Consulte las instrucciones adjuntas. Una vez completada la inscripción, los padres deben firmar la página de confirmación y los estudiantes deben entregarla al salon 201.
